Mechanical Design Engineer - Water Sector

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Locations:
Croydon, Swindon, or Exeter
Working Pattern:
Hybrid - 2-3 days per week in the office

Advance TRS are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with a solid foundation in the UK regulated water industry to join a growing and well-established engineering consultancy. This role is well suited to an engineer with 3+ years' experience working on water and wastewater infrastructure projects within a consultancy or framework environment.

You will contribute to the delivery of mechanical designs for a range of clean and wastewater projects, including work at Sewage Treatment Works, as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team.

The Role

Produce mechanical designs for water and wastewater projects across all design stages
Support AMP framework delivery, from concept through to detailed design
Collaborate with civil, electrical, and process engineers to deliver coordinated solutions
Ensure designs comply with UK water industry standards, client specifications, and regulations
Prepare design calculations, reports, and technical documentation

About You

At least 3 years' experience in mechanical design within the UK regulated water sector
Background in engineering consultancy or framework delivery
Strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes and mechanical systems
Confident working within multidisciplinary design teams
Able to attend the Croydon, Swindon, or Exeter office 2-3 days per week
