We're supporting a leading manufacturer in recruiting a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to head up their engineering operations and play a key role in driving performance, reliability, and innovation across the site.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a hands‑on leadership role—optimising equipment, improving processes, and enabling new product development within a fast‑moving production environment.
Leadership & Team Management- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers and technicians across maintenance, process engineering, and product engineering.
- Set clear objectives, manage performance, and promote a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate cross‑functional activities to align engineering output with wider production goals and business strategy.
- Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programmes to maximise equipment uptime and reliability.
- Conduct root cause analysis on equipment issues and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with all safety and regulatory standards.
- Optimise manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost control.
- Introduce Lean and Six Sigma tools to reduce waste and boost throughput.
- Lead process improvement initiatives across the facility.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) and ensure smooth transition from design to manufacture.
- Work closely with Design and R&D teams on manufacturability and scalability.
- Maintain accurate documentation for processes, tooling, and equipment.
- Deliver productivity enhancements, downtime reduction and quality improvements.
- Analyse production data, identify trends, and implement strategic corrective plans.
- Contribute to long‑term engineering and capital investment strategy.
- Ensure compliance with ISO, health & safety, and environmental standards.
- Maintain robust documentation for audits and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- 7+ years’ experience in manufacturing engineering with proven leadership responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of maintenance systems, process optimisation, and product lifecycle management.
- Skilled in Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
