Position: Accounting Manager – Canadian CPA Role | Career Growth

This is a senior-level accounting role requiring a CPA or CA designation plus 5+ years in Canadian public accounting — a niche but high-value specialization. For Philippine-based accountants with Canadian firm experience, this represents a strong opportunity to work at manager level with meaningful scope.

Compensation context: No salary is disclosed, but Treantly is a staffing firm placing Filipino professionals in North American accounting roles. Market rates for similar remote roles in the Philippines typically range from PHP 80,000–150,000/month at the manager level, depending on firm size and designation. The Maxicare HMO benefit is a standard but meaningful perk in the Philippine market.

Skills you will develop or strengthen:

  • Canadian ASPE/GAAP standards and CRA tax compliance — highly specialized and globally transferable to other Commonwealth tax systems.
  • Proficiency in Caseware and Profile — industry-standard Canadian public accounting tools.
  • Client management and team leadership — building toward Partner-track experience.

Green flags: Real controller-level responsibilities, mentorship duties, and cross-functional engagements (audit, review, consulting) signal genuine career growth rather than a narrow processing role.

Watch for: The overnight shift requirement (Canadian hours from PH) can cause burnout over time. Clarify exact hours expectations and whether there is any schedule flexibility before accepting.

Job Title: Accounting Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time (Canadian business hours)
Work Setup: Remote
