Senior Civil​/Structural Engineer; Buildings

Due to continued expansion and growth we now have a requirement for a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer (Buildings).

• Development of prototypes, initiating structural testing and material cost studies.
• Analysis and interpretation of customer specifications.
• Designing structures using available aids (various computer software applications, charts and curves).
• Prepare design calculation and cost estimates for proposed designs in the bidding process.
• Develop test procedures, observes testing and write test reports as a prelude to full scale testing for structures and components per customer requirement and/or Research and Development procedures.
• Lead civil and structural engineers and designers.
• Prepare detailed technical drawings for site.
• Preparation and overall site development design criteria and other scoping documents related to civil and structural design work.
• Squad check of drawings from other engineering disciplines as part of inter-discipline Quality Assurance/Quality Control exercise.
• Prepare lists of engineering deliverables and man-hour requirements for each task.
• Meet and coordinate with Client Engineers and personnel for design review and gathering technical data.
• Coordinate with other Lead Engineers about the scope of work for each task.
• Attend Value Engineering Workshops.
• Any other adhoc duties as assigned from time to time.

• 12 to 15 years' experience in civil/structural engineering design of building sizes up to 80,000m2, up to 5 stories.
• Preferably Chartered Engineer or equivalent.
• Capable of leading a team, and able to take initiative.
• Good communication and team working skills.
• Experience in working on projects for Middle East an advantage, but not essential.
