Automation Technician RME, Relatability Maintenance Engineering

Apply for the Automation Technician RME, Relatability Maintenance Engineering role s role focuses on maintaining and improving automation systems across Amazon's facilities, ensuring optimal equipment performance and customer experience.

Responsibilities
  • Lead other technicians and drive the design of solutions for complex maintenance challenges.
  • Manage outside contractors, handle emergencies, and prioritize multiple projects to meet deadlines.
  • Develop plans to achieve engineering departmental goals and coach the technical team through performance management.
  • Provide reactive and pro active maintenance for all operational equipment and facility infrastructure.
  • Serve as the site level subject matter expert for all control systems and sensors, monitoring, fault finding, and repairing systems to maintain high equipment availability.
  • Work within the EU Controls network to enhance the capability to monitor material handling equipment metrics and provide visualization and data to internal customers.
  • Participate in or own continuous improvement projects coordinated by the EU Controls network.
  • Collaborate with IT, EU Controls Engineering, and Operations Engineering to ensure system documentation and backup libraries are accurate.
  • Support other sites in the EU network and assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and develop improvement strategies for code conformity to IEC 61131 3.
Qualifications
  • 1+ years of PLC controlled automation and issue diagnosis experience in a process or production environment.
  • 2+ years of automated conveyor systems and controls experience.
  • Experience in engineering and estimating material handling and storage systems.
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to communicate (written & verbal) in English and the local language at CEFR Level B2 or higher.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Electrical or mechanical training degree in computer science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related fields.
  • Understanding of ISO 13849 & 62061.
  • Familiarity with CE Machinery Directive.
  • Experience in a multi site environment.
  • Project management experience.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma, data analysis, and process improvement techniques.
