The role will be part of an initially small Accounting, Reporting & Control team reporting directly to the Commercial Leadership Team.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading end-to-end monthly financial reporting and statutory accounts preparation. Managing the statutory audit process and filing of the company’s statutory financial statements, liaising with auditors, regulators, and external stakeholders. Designing and implementing robust internal controls and IFRS-compliant accounting policies. Overseeing outsourced providers (accounting, payroll, tax & audit) to ensure delivery to contract and value for money. Preparing key financial MI for the Board and Audit & Risk Committee.

What you'll need to succeed Qualified accountant (ICAEW, ICAS, CIMA or equivalent) with circa 10 years post-qualification experience. Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, statutory reporting, and audit processes. Gravitas to operate at Board and senior leadership level. Hands-on approach with the ability to lead and grow a finance team.
Commercial acumen and experience in complex, regulated environments. Self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset, able to use initiative and commercial acumen to drive solutions. What you'll get in return Why Join NEP? Be part of a groundbreaking project that will transform both the UK’s energy landscape and the local Tees Valley community. Shape the finance function of a pioneering carbon capture and storage project.
