Job Overview

St Martins Care is recruiting for a Senior Care Assistant to support our busy Residential Care Home. The role requires an experienced care professional with knowledge of medication management and CQC compliance, who also brings a genuine passion for high‑quality, person‑centred care.

Role‑specific Duties
  • Ensure residents are at the heart of the care delivery, respecting their wishes and preferences to enhance wellbeing.
  • Supervise staff, ensuring all team members contribute to the efficient running of the service.
  • Be responsible for promoting and protecting the welfare of those individuals supported by the service.

  • Develop effective working relationships with colleagues within the service.
  • Work in cooperation with multidisciplinary teams to maximise opportunities for residents.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with residents’ loved ones.

Essential Criteria Qualifications
  • Vocational qualification Level 3 Health and Social Care.
  • Level 3 Medication
  • Good English (written and verbal).
Skills
  • Maintain care plans/care records in accordance with the service’s policy and audit care records to ensure compliance.
  • Communication skills to build rapport with residents, and communicate effectively with them, colleagues, management and other professionals.
  • Problem‑solving skills to adapt to and address situations quickly, develop solutions and recognise/report situations requiring protection.
  • Ability to assist residents with daily tasks by following their care plan, including bathing, eating, dressing, grooming and using the bathroom.
  • Supervise staff providing residents with support/assistance as they accomplish daily tasks.
  • Dispense medication following the service’s policies and procedures.
Previous Experience
  • Previous experience of working in a similar environment.
