Based near Dartford | Full-Time On-Site | £40,000-£45,000 Salary
Are you an experienced Buyer with a strong understanding of the end‑to‑end procurement process, looking to take your career to the next level within a fast‑paced business?
£40,000 to £45,000 per annum depending on experience, 23 days holiday plus bank holidays rising to 25 days and 8 additional Bank Holidays with service, Bupa, DIS and Company Pension. Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week with either 8–4 pm or 9–5 pm.
The successful candidate will work cross‑functionally, ensuring exceptional relationship‑building with suppliers, and a passion for using their initiative with end‑to‑end procurement duties.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with manufacturing needs.
- Source and manage suppliers for raw materials, components and equipment, focusing on quality, cost, lead times and reliability.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing to drive savings while maintaining quality and supplier relationships.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, QA, finance and logistics to align purchasing with operational requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any supply or quality issues.
- Maintain procurement records, generate reports and ensure policy and regulatory compliance.
- Support continuous improvement to optimise inventory and reduce costs.
- Contribute to supply chain reconciliation and forward planning based on current run rates.
What you'll bring:
- 5+ years of procurement experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably within a small‑medium enterprise.
- Strong communicator with negotiation and supplier‑management skills.
- In‑depth understanding of manufacturing processes and supply‑chain dynamics.
- Proficiency with procurement and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Reviso is desirable.
- Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across departments.
- Knowledge of quality standards and regulatory requirements relevant to manufacturing.
- Demonstrable experience in import and export is desirable.
