Senior Accountant

We Do Group are supporting a PE backed business going through a period of separation, transformation and growth. This is a newly created Senior Accountant role, brought in to strengthen the core finance function as the business builds its own standalone systems, processes and controls.

This role suits someone who enjoys being close to the numbers, is confident with core accounting, and wants to play a key role in helping a business move from transition into stability and growth.

Dartford | Hybrid working 3 days office, 2 days home

Reporting into the Finance Director, you will support the day to day general accounting activity across the business. This is a hands on role covering journals, reconciliations, month end support and core ledger work. You will be joining a wider finance team but will act as the go to person for general accounting and month end support.

The business has scale and complexity, with a high volume of transactional activity and multiple operational units, so this role requires someone confident, practical and comfortable working at pace.

• Prepare and post journals including accruals, prepayments and adjustments
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding items
• Support the monthly and year end close process
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of transactions
• Assist with preparation of management accounts and financial reporting
• Process inter-company transactions and reconciliations
• Complete bank reconciliations and support treasury processes
• Work closely with AP and AR teams to resolve queries
• Support audit requests and liaise with external auditors
• Assist with VAT returns and regulatory reporting
• Contribute to improving accounting processes and controls
• Provide ad hoc analysis and support to the Finance Director

• Part qualified or qualified by experience AAT, ACCA or CIMA
• Strong hands on general accounting background
• Confident posting journals and owning reconciliations
• Experience supporting month end in a busy finance environment
• Comfortable working in a business going through change
• Confident communicator who is not shy about engaging with stakeholders
• Ambitious and keen to grow with the business
