Marmon Lift Recruitment is supporting a leading PE-backed independent provider of elevator and escalator services in the UK in the search for a skilled and experienced Management Accountant based in Dartford.

Now operating as a stand-alone, high-growth business, our client is undergoing an organic growth stage. This Management Accountant role is a key appointment within the Finance function, reporting directly to the Finance Director and supporting commercial and operational decision-making through accurate management reporting and financial control.

Responsibilities:
Management Accountant

* Prepare monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet, and variance analysis

* Produce and review accruals, prepayments, and month-end journals

* Own the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting

* Provide budget preparation, forecasting, and cashflow analysis

* Partner with operational teams to support cost control and performance improvement

* Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances

* Support intercompany accounting and reconciliations

* Assist with VAT returns and statutory reporting requirements

* Support audit processes and liaise with external auditors as required

* Develop and improve management reporting packs and financial KPIs

* Contribute to improving and documenting financial controls and processes

* Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support the Finance Director

Ideal Candidate:
Management Accountant

* AAT qualified (minimum requirement)

* Actively studying or keen to progress to ACCA or CIMA (supported but not essential)

* Minimum 3–5+ years’ experience in a management accounting or similar role

* Experience with in a PE-backed, growing, or operationally focused business is advantageous

* Background in services, engineering, construction, or maintenance-led environments preferred

* Strong understanding of management accounting principles

* Commercially minded with strong analytical skills

* High attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines

* Confident communicator, able to work cross-functionally
