We are working with a respected Housing Association that provides specialist supported housing for vulnerable adults. They are looking for an experienced Housing Officer to cover a 6-month maternity contract, with a strong focus on face-to-face housing management across South London and Kent.
This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys being out on the patch, building relationships with tenants, carrying out tenancy visits, welfare checks, sign‑ups, and ensuring homes are safe, compliant and well managed.
A full UK driving licence is essential, as the role involves regular travel between schemes.
The RoleAs Housing Officer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day housing management of a patch of supported housing schemes, working closely with tenants, care and support providers, and internal teams. You will be a visible presence on site, ensuring tenants feel supported, listened to and safe in their homes.
Key Duties Include- Carrying out regular tenancy and property visits (minimum quarterly)
- Completing tenant sign‑ups, tenancy sustainment work and welfare checks
- Managing voids, inspections and re‑lets to maximise occupancy
- Ensuring buildings meet health & safety and building safety compliance
- Working with maintenance teams to report and follow up repairs
- Responding to tenancy management issues, including anti‑social behaviour
- Liaising with care and support providers to maintain positive, welcoming environments
- Supporting rent and service charge collection alongside the Income Team
- Accurately recording tenant contact and actions on housing management systems
- Has experience working as a Housing Officer or similar housing management role
- Is confident carrying out face‑to‑face tenant engagement and lone working
- Has experience managing tenancies, sign‑ups, voids and property inspections
- Is organised, proactive and able to manage their own patch
- Has strong communication skills and can work collaboratively with multiple agencies
- Holds a full UK driving licence and can travel across South London and Kent
Experience with in supported housing or working with vulnerable adults is highly desirable.
