WSP in Canada is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Survey Party Chief to lead field survey operations across a range of survey, civil, infrastructure, and land development projects. • Lead field survey crews in collecting topographic, boundary, construction, and control data.
• Interpret project plans, legal descriptions, and survey requirements to plan daily field activities.
• Operate and maintain survey equipment including GNSS receivers, total stations, and data collectors.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of field data and documentation.
• Collaborate with office staff to process data and resolve discrepancies.
• Train and supervise junior crew members, fostering a culture of safety and technical excellence.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and clients.
• Provide field notes, sketches, and digital records in accordance with company standards.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in land surveying, with at least 2 years in a party chief role.
• Proficiency in modern survey equipment and software (e.g., Trimble, Leica, Civil 3D, Micro Survey).
• Strong understanding of geodetic principles, boundary analysis, and construction layout.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites (5-10%).
• Chainsaw experience and training is an asset.
• Willingness to travel for short-duration projects out of town.
• Willingness to work in all weather conditions.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Graduate of Centre of Geographic Science (COGS), EIT designation, or equivalent is an asset.
