ABOUT SJF ELECTRICS LTD

SJF Electrics Ltd is an established and growing contractor specialising in electrical, fire alarm and security systems, delivering installation, maintenance and servicing solutions across commercial, education, healthcare, residential and industrial sectors.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager with direct industry knowledge to help drive new business across Lancashire and the wider North West.

THE ROLE

This is a hands‑on business development role focused on winning real, deliverable work, not speculative leads.

You will be responsible for identifying and securing new opportunities across:

  • Electrical installations and maintenance
  • Fire alarm systems (installations, alterations & servicing)
  • Security systems (intruder, access control, CCTV)

Working closely with the Managing Director and estimating team, you will develop relationships with end users, facilities managers, managing agents and contractors, converting opportunities into long‑term clients and repeat business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Proactively generate new installation, maintenance and servicing work
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline
  • Attend client meetings and site visits
  • Accurately hand over secured work to delivery teams
  • Represent the company professionally at all times
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Proven experience in business development within electrical and/or fire & security
  • Strong technical understanding of systems and compliance‑based works
  • Demonstrable track record of winning new business
  • Confident communicator with strong commercial awareness
  • Full UK driving licence
