The Manufacturing Engineer :
Body Structures Opportunity
Due to continuous growth, the team is expanding and seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to focus on Body Structure, Fabrication and Metrology. As a key player, you will contribute to developing manufacturing processes, revolutionising vehicle build within a low‑volume environment. You will be at the forefront of new model launches and engineering changes, offering crucial support in enhancing Project Management, Safety, Quality, Cost Management, and Product Delivery.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement efficient, high‑quality, safe, and cost‑effective manufacturing processes for automotive components within fabrication and body structure areas.
- Conduct measurement activities to support build processes, including calibration and verification of jigs and tooling.
- Create and manage detailed project plans and timelines to support restoration and production activities.
- Analyse and optimise existing production processes to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and enhance productivity.
- Oversee tooling requirements and coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely procurement, maintenance, and readiness of jigs and fixtures.
- Collaborate with quality teams to develop and implement inspection procedures and quality checkpoints throughout production stages.
- Support prototype/launch build phases for new vehicle programs by providing fabrication expertise and working closely with Engineering and Launch teams.
- Proficiency with CAD systems and tooling design.
- Experience using Creaform, Metrolog, CAM2, and Poly Works for measurement and analysis.
- Strong technical writing skills with experience in creating and maintaining detailed engineering documentation.
