What

You’ll Do

As a Safety Apprentice, you’ll gain first-hand experience identifying risks, improving processes, and supporting a culture of safety - all while working alongside experienced safety professionals. You’ll be based on-site within our operations, seeing how people and equipment interact and spotting potential hazards before they occur. You’ll build a deep understanding of how every process, task, and machine works and think creatively about how to make operations safer.

  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and safety audits
  • Analyse safety data and report on key metrics
  • Understand health, safety, and compliance regulations in a fast-moving operational environment
  • Design and implement proactive safety improvements
  • Develop communication skills to advise colleagues and guide safe working practices
  • Respond quickly and effectively to emerging safety challenges

  • Collaborate with robotics teams to ensure safe human-machine interaction

  • Use data analytics to identify trends and prevent incidents
  • Measure key safety metrics and drive data-led decisions
People & Culture
  • Lead safety campaigns that reach thousands of employees
  • Engage with leadership teams to drive safety culture
  • Support sustainable workplace practices
Operations & Response
  • Work with engineering teams on facility design improvements
  • Participate in emergency response planning and crisis management
  • Contribute to global safety initiatives that shape Amazon’s future
A Day in the Life
  • Carry out daily safety inspections and support risk assessments across operational areas
  • Observe workplace activities to identify potential hazards or unsafe practices
  • Collect, analyse, and report safety data to help identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Support incident investigations and contribute to corrective or preventive action plans
  • Assist with safety briefings, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns to promote safe working practices
  • Collaborate with operations teams to ensure safety procedures are followed and understood
  • Help review and maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Monitor the implementation of safety improvements and record progress in documentation or tracking systems
  • Use digital tools and software to manage safety audits, reports, and training records
