A globally recognised OEM of capital equipment is seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead and elevate its UK after‑sales and service operations. The company is strengthening its presence in the UK market, recently acquiring two complementary businesses that have expanded its reach and unlocked new sectors previously out of scope. With a broader and more competitive machinery portfolio and ambitious growth plans, this role is crucial in shaping a high‑performing service function and supporting the next phase of the organisation's success.
The RoleYou will take ownership of day‑to‑day service operations, ensuring customers receive a responsive, professional, and high‑quality after‑sales experience. Leading a team of field‑based engineers and support staff, you will drive performance against KPIs, manage resources effectively, and act as a senior escalation point for complex service issues.
Service ManagerKey Responsibilities
- Oversee service delivery, scheduling, and resource planning across the UK
- Drive continuous improvement in service processes and efficiency
- Manage service budgets, costs, and profitability
- Support service contract delivery and identify opportunities for service growth
- Ensure compliance with health & safety and company procedures
- Proven experience in a Service Manager or senior service leadership role
- Strong background in field service operations within engineering, manufacturing, or capital equipment
- Confident people manager with experience leading remote or field‑based teams
- Commercially aware with strong organisational and problem‑solving skills
- Customer‑focused, proactive, and comfortable in a fast‑paced environment
- Knowledge of CNC machinery, automation, or complex equipment
