The primary purpose of the Security Officer is to support the contract, protect the client’s premises, assets, and personnel by maintaining a safe and secure environment in accordance with the Assignment instructions. This involves monitoring and controlling access, conducting patrols, and responding promptly to security incidents or emergencies while maintaining a quality service.
Key Responsibilities- Greet and assist visitors, ensuring they feel welcome and are directed to the appropriate area.
- Be receptive to the client’s concerns and complaints and take a personal interest in resolving any issues.
- Provide a high level of customer service, addressing inquiries and concerns professionally and courteously.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with staff, visitors, and contractors.
- Work to the assignment instructions, ensuring all activity is accurately recorded on the correct documents, in line with both the client’s and the company’s quality procedures.
- Comply with and report on all Health and Safety issues in accordance with company guidelines.
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises, both internally and externally, to identify and mitigate security risks.
- Monitor surveillance equipment and review footage as necessary.
- Make the required check calls and booking on/off calls.
- Control access to the premises, ensuring only authorised personnel are allowed entry.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms and incidents, ensuring the situation is handled appropriately and reported accurately.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of daily activities, incidents, and irregularities.
- Collaborate with emergency services when required.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with a diverse range of people.
- Ensure that equipment issued to the contract is maintained and used in accordance with the manufacturer’s requirements.
- Be correctly dressed in full uniform, as required by the client, and communicate any shortfall in issue to the appropriate line manager.
- Set and maintain the highest personal and professional standards as an employee of Kings Security and adopt a total quality approach to every aspect of your work, colleagues and clients.
- SIA Licence or valid SIA training certificates
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility and willingness to work various shift patterns in line with operational needs
- Ability to stay calm and composed under pressure, especially during emergencies
- Prior experience in a similar role is advantageous
- Basic understanding of security protocols and procedures
- Familiarity with the use of surveillance systems and other security equipment
- Previous experience in the security industry
