Are you detail-oriented, organised and ready to take on a vital role supporting your local community?
Dawlish Town Council is seeking a Finance Officer for maternity cover (up to 12 months or until the substantive postholder returns, whichever is sooner). Based at the historic Manor House, you will join a welcoming team committed to making a difference within the community.
- 20 hours per week, worked over three days (pattern to be agreed)
- Some evening meetings, and rare weekend work required (with time off in lieu)

About the Role:
Reporting to the Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining the Council’s finances, making and receiving payments, bank reconciliations, supporting budget preparation, and assisting with both internal and external audits. You’ll also support colleagues on projects and help ensure the Council meets all financial and governance requirements.
About You:
You should have at least three years’ relevant experience and strong organisational, communication and IT skills. Experience in local government finance or using RBS Omega software is desirable, as is an accountancy or bookkeeping qualification.
