A private equity–backed, multi-site services group is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to lead post-deal finance professionalisation across a rapidly scaling buy-and-build platform.

The business is currently c.£20m revenue and forecast to grow to c.£60m by year-end through an active acquisition strategy. The group is acquiring multiple small owner‑managed businesses (EV £100k–£3m) that require rapid uplift to investor‑grade finance processes, controls, and reporting.

This is a high‑impact transformation role offering significant autonomy, direct exposure to senior leadership and PE investors, and the opportunity to build a scalable finance platform to support accelerated growth.

• Lead post‑acquisition finance integration and professionalisation across newly acquired multi‑site entities
• Design and implement standardised finance processes, controls, and reporting across the group
• Uplift founder‑led, fragmented finance functions into robust, scalable operating models
• Own the selection, implementation, and group‑wide roll‑out of a new ERP system
• Establish consistent month‑end close, cashflow management, and management reporting disciplines
• Strengthen governance, internal controls, and financial rigour in line with PE expectations
• Partner with operational leaders across sites to embed financial ownership and accountability
• Support ongoing M&A activity from a finance integration and readiness perspective

• Proven Interim Financial Controller with strong post‑deal and buy‑and‑build experience
• Track record of integrating small acquisitions within multi‑site or distributed operating models
• Experience in PE‑backed environments strongly preferred
• Hands‑on ERP implementation and multi‑entity roll‑out experience essential
• Comfortable operating at pace in imperfect, evolving environments
• Pragmatic, delivery‑focused, and confident working directly with senior leadership and investors
