Location: Connah's Quay

Social Media Manager

You’ll play a key role in raising the profile of Connah’s Quay Sea Cadets, promoting the fantastic work that we do to inspire and empower young people through nautical adventure.

You’ll be making a positive impact on the lives of young people, helping us recruit new cadets, raising awareness of Sea Cadets, strengthening community engagement and showcasing achievements to inspire pride and foster growth.

  • Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete our application form
  • Successful candidates will be required to undertake a DBS check and complete short training as part of induction including Safeguarding, Health & Safety and Data Protection
Requirements & Qualifications

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and creative volunteer with a passion for storytelling, community engagement, and making a difference.

  • Strong communication and writing skills – able to create clear, engaging posts that reflect our tone and values.
  • Creativity and an eye for design – able to use photos, video clips, and graphics effectively.
  • Good organisation and reliability – able to plan content in advance, respond to messages, and keep our pages active.
  • Team player – works closely with other volunteers and cadets to promote events and celebrate successes.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and online safety (training provided).

Previous experience in marketing, public relations, community engagement or photography/videography would be an advantage, but enthusiasm for supporting young people and a positive, can‑do attitude is most important.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Working closely with our team to create and manage social media content that showcases our activities, achievements and events.
  • Growing our online presence by creating compelling and visually appealing content for Facebook, Instagram, Linked In, Threads and similar platforms.
  • Responding to comments, messages and interactions; analysing content performance to continually improve and shape our profile and reach.
  • Working independently to meet deadlines while fostering a flexible schedule around your commitments.
