R&D Lead - Scalable Quantum Devices

In this role, you’ll oversee and coordinate technical efforts across multiple research and development initiatives aimed at creating scalable, high-performance quantum devices. You’ll connect the dots between theory, fabrication, and experimentation to ensure projects move forward with clarity and purpose.

• Identify critical paths and dependencies across concurrent R&D projects.
• Prioritize milestones to maintain focus and momentum.
• Keep teams aligned and productive toward shared technical goals.
• Design and plan experimental campaigns, from concept to execution.
• Define clear hypotheses and expected outcomes.
• Develop and optimize Hamiltonians for device experiments.
• Analyse data, visualise results, and draw meaningful conclusions.
• Present insights and implications to internal teams, guiding next steps.
• Partner closely with design, fabrication, and measurement teams.
• Ensure alignment and coherence throughout the full R&D cycle.
• Balance scientific precision with the practical need for progress.
• Maintain strong integration between project outcomes and company objectives

• PhD or equivalent experience in experimental physics, ideally focused on superconducting qubits.
• 4+ years of hands‑on experience covering the full R&D pipeline — from design to fabrication to measurement.
• Practical mindset with a strong focus on delivering robust results.
• Confident taking initiative and leading others through technical challenges.
• Excellent communicator and clear thinker with a pragmatic, decisive approach.
