They are looking for profiles that have genuine, considerable experience with a mix of
Handling data models, designs in SAP ECC or S4 HANA data solutions (areas such as Finance, Procurement, Sales, Supply Chain etc.)
Experience and Understanding of SAP BW, Data models in HANA are typically how they get these
And some decent experience with Snowflake and good complex SQL skills for models and build.
Profiles with ONLY snowflake skills or ONLY BW skills are likely to get rejected again.
Skills Needed:
One key area: depth in knowledge of SAP Data and its acquisition for data platforms
Expertise in managing SAP data acquisition (SAP data extraction > loading to Data platforms such as Snowflake etc.)
This involves expertise in handling different data scenarios ( delta loads, full loads and large volumes, CDC processing, error handling etc .)
Knowledge of prominent data tables of key SAP process areas (such as data in procurement, sales etc. of SAP ECC)
Experience of handing large data platform migrations for SAP sources (e.g. re-mappings, reconnections and reloads when ECC to S4 migrations happen etc.)
Typically these will involve a data replication tool for mappings and data load jobs. Good if the person knows SNP Glue, but even other tools such as SLT / Replicate etc. used for data replication are ok)
Another key area:
Good project execution (build and design experience) in Snowflake.
Main concern was that profiles we shared failed to convince KLA about genuine project experience, and made KLA feel they were projecting what they did not actually do.
So genuine and significant experience in large Snowflake projects implementation - with design, build - thorough experience to guide juniors, carry out innovative work on Snowflake
And good exposure to advanced and innovative capabilities in Snowflake (e.g. data processing with Python, use of AI capabilities, Cortex etc.)
