The Role
We're seeking a Lead Oracle Applications Database Administrator to guide our database strategy and support critical environments—from development to production. You'll lead cross-functional teams, optimize performance, and ensure our systems are secure, reliable, and future-ready.
This role blends technical depth with leadership. You'll mentor others, shape infrastructure decisions, and help ETS deliver data solutions that make a difference.
What You'll Do
Lead database design, tuning, and optimization across Oracle and Postgres environments
Apply your AWS cloud expertise to improve scalability and resilience
Manage replication and standby databases using Oracle Data Guard and Golden Gate
Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and guide root cause analysis
Oversee upgrades, migrations, and patching with minimal disruption
Analyze access paths and collaborate with developers to improve efficiency
Use CASE tools to translate logical designs into physical database structures
Ensure data security and compliance with ETS standards and audit policies
Conduct stress tests and recommend design improvements
Document standards, procedures, and knowledge to support continuous improvement
Mentor DBA teams and share expertise across infrastructure and application groups
Act as a bridge between systems and database teams to ensure seamless integration
Research and evaluate new tools to enhance our database ecosystem
Participate in on-call support and resolve production issues with urgency and care
What You'll Deliver
High-performing, secure, and scalable databases
Clear project plans, technical documentation, and standards
Reliable backup, recovery, and tuning strategies
Expert consultation across hardware, OS, network, and database domains
Compliance with ETS's security and audit requirements
What You Bring
BS Degree in Computer Science or related field
A minimum of 7 years of experience as an Oracle Applications Database Administrator
Proven experience with Oracle 19c and AWS cloud environments
Strong skills in performance tuning, backup/recovery, and database replication
Working knowledge of Oracle Data Guard, Golden Gate, and Postgres
Ability to lead teams and collaborate across technical disciplines
Clear communication and a commitment to service excellence
Experience with service management frameworks and CASE tools
A passion for learning, mentoring, and driving positive change
