In a fast‑paced environment, the Senior Accountant role calls for an experienced, organized professional with strong analytical skills. The position will effectively assist in planning, controlling, forecasting, reporting, and measuring accounting data and financial information for the organization. The Senior Accountant must exercise sound judgement and excellent customer service skills to follow through on requests for information and solutions.

Salary: $60,057 – $70,000

• Review and reconcile all balance sheet accounts, including subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger.
• Prepare and review general entries, bank reconciliations, bank journal entries, credit card transactions, and deposits; implement and follow standard procedures.
• Process and reconcile internal and external accounts.
• Assist in preparing financial statements and variance analysis against the budget.
• Prepare or assist in preparing year‑end comparative financial statements and audit working papers for assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenditures.
• Maintain daily cash requirement monitoring and produce cash forecasts.
• Maintain accounting manuals and documentation of procedures and policies, including database and other financial processes.
• Ensure financial security by auditing documents, following internal controls, and completing data backups.
• Assist in the development of working papers to facilitate departmental budgets, and monitor and submit provincial tax returns (HST and NRT) within required time frames.

• Four years of progressively responsible accounting experience or equivalent education and experience.
• Currently enrolled in or have completed CPA.
• Extensive knowledge of accounting, financial theories and practices, tax, and applicable legislation.
• General knowledge of gaming regulatory policies and finance department procedures (preferred).
• Strong accounting software skills, including spreadsheets, database software, email, web browsers, and experience with Great Plains (preferred).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
