Position Description SummaryReporting to the Site Manager the successful candidate will be maintain safe, effective and functional facilities by directing installation, maintenance and repair of machines, tools, equipment, and utility systems for refrigerated warehouse. Direct reports:
Maintenance Supervisors Principal Accountabilities
Identifies current and future maintenance requirements by establishing rapport with management, engineering, and production personnel and technicians to understand maintenance requirements at the warehouse.Supervision of all maintenance staffMonitor performance of all maintenance staffEnsures production operations by determining work priorities and scheduling repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment.Supports product development and improvement by reviewing new product plans; discussing equipment needs and modifications with design engineers; coordinating activities of technicians and workers fabricating or modifying machines, tools, or equipment.Ensure adequate tool and spare parts supply with cost effective justification as required for conveyorCoordinate facility project work (cost, bidding, managing and scheduling).Maintain facility compliance to WSIB/MOL.Coordinate bidding and purchasing of equipment and maintenance parts.Participate in and monitor monthly safety inspections. Ensure timely action on safety concerns. (Check maintenance logs, accident logs, fire extinguisher security system, emergency equipment, etc.)Ensure the exterior of the facility is uncluttered and grounds have a clean appearance.Adhere to company policies, procedures and rules.Create and maintain a safe, clean, and efficient working environment working with the Health and Safety Co-ordinatorDesigns, implements, and modifies preventive maintenance programs by reviewing production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics; inspecting operating machines, equipment, and systems for conformance with operational standards.Knowledge and SkillsFacilities maintenance experienceAbility to excel working in an extremely fast paced environmentGMP trainedStrong planning and organization skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsA high degree of initiative and the ability to work in a team environment are essentialExcellent knowledge of overall warehousing processesStrong computer skillsAt DB Schenker, you are part of a global logistics network that connects the world.
