• Innovate and implement climate control strategies in Priva to optimize crop development and plant health.
• Monitor crop development and adjust climate strategies according to the crops’ response to maintain high yield and quality.
• Modify climate according to the season and the outside conditions to maintain consistent crop development & to reduce energy expenditures.
• Monitor all flower room, irrigation room and boiler room systems to verify they are in working order and report any deficiencies to maintenance.

• Observe plant growth between different strains and rooms, over different seasons to understand the variables behind developmental trends and to adjust new developmental strategies that balance the cultivation objectives.
• Monitor and control plant irrigation and nutrition.
• Collaborate with the IPM Team to optimize the preventative and reactive pest and pathogen suppression procedures.
• Support the training of IPM Team Lead Hands and all IPM workers to ensure they execute effectively.

• Develop and implement strain specific crop training strategies based upon plant form, season, or plant health.
  
  E.g. Pinching, pruning and delegating strategies.
• Monitor and improve all jobs being performed in the flower rooms to increase the job ergonomics while increasing yield and flower quality.

• Support in the training and development of apprentice growers to support their execution of cultivation strategies and identify inefficiencies

• At Pure Sunfarms, we’re committed to ensuring we’re bringing the best we have to offer to our consumers. This means other duties may arise since we work together to ensure we support all business activities – seed to sale.

• This is an on-site role, working in or supporting operations and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams across the business.

• Diploma in Horticulture or related field is required

• 5+ years of experience working in a nursery of greenhouse

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take direction from senior growers, with a willingness to learn and support multiple projects.
• Flexibility and adaptability to the job's requirements, along with the ability to meet the physical demands of a greenhouse environment, are important.
• Must have the ability to maintain and pass an RCMP criminal record check and obtain a security clearance.

• Ability to stand and walk for long hours while assisting with various tasks like crop work and irrigation.
