40 hours per week (option to condense into a 4-day week)
Rate: £45 per hour
Security Clearance:
Must hold, or be eligible for, SC clearance
The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Aero Gas Turbine V&V Engineer to join a leading engineering organisation in Derby on a 12-month contract basis (outside IR35).
You’ll be responsible for planning and executing verification and validation (V&V) activities for aero gas turbine engines and associated electrical units, ensuring they meet design, performance and airworthiness requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform verification and validation (V&V) activities for aero gas turbine engines.
* Develop and execute test plans, procedures and reports in line with design specifications and regulatory requirements.
* Conduct system-level and component-level testing, including functional, performance and environmental tests.
* Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to identify, investigate and resolve issues during the V&V process.
* Ensure all V&V activities comply with industry standards, regulations and best practices.
* Prepare and maintain V&V documentation, including test plans, test cases and test reports.
* Support the certification process for electrical units, ensuring compliance with relevant airworthiness standards.
* Participate in design reviews, technical meetings and project planning activities.
* Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and other team members.
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
* 5+ years’ experience in verification and validation of aero gas turbine engines.
* Strong knowledge of gas turbine engine systems and components.
* Experience with electrical unit airworthiness certification processes and standards.
* Proficiency with V&V tools, methods and software.
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills.
* Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic engineering environment.
* Must hold or be eligible for SC clearance.
What’s on Offer
* Outside IR35 contract.
* £45 per hour.
* 12-month initial contract with potential for extension.
* Option to work 40 hours over 4 days for a condensed working week.
