Certain Advantage are hiring for a Stress Engineer based in Derby.

This role is on a 12-month contract basis.

The role

Ownership of stress analysis of assigned components.
Collaborate with support functions as needed (stress analysis, life management, heat transfer, materials, design).
Ensure assigned components meet all technical and functional requirements.
Interface with global engineering organizations and other internal organizations (e.g. design) as required to support activity on assigned components.
Generate and deliver technical/program presentations to internal and external customers as required (systems tech review, design review and internal analysis review).
Write Design Study Summaries (Design Definition Record), Technical Memorandums, Coordination Memos, and Certification Reports as required to document design engineering activity on assigned components.
The individual:

3+ years gas turbine experience
2D/3D stress analysis of rotating parts (discs, blisks, shafts, seals, airfoils)
Advanced modelling (friction, elastic/plastic)
Proficient in ANSYS Mechanical APDL, Hypermesh, UG NX
Life analysis: fatigue, damage tolerance, fracture mechanics
