Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 16:00

About the Role:

We’re looking for a hands-on Manual Machinist to join our client’s busy engineering team in Melbourne, Derbyshire.
If you enjoy working with manual machines and want to develop into a Tooling Engineer, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
You’ll be part of a supportive team where you’ll gain experience in press tool maintenance, manual machining, and precision engineering.
What You’ll Do
 
* Operate and maintain manual machines, including:
 
* Jones & Shipman Grinder
 
* Bridgeport Turret Mill
 
* Manual Lathe
 
* Assist with the setup and repair of press tools
 
* Carry out precision machining and tool maintenance tasks
 
* Maintain high safety and quality standards across all work
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
 
* Experience operating manual mills, grinders, or lathes
 
* Previous work in a mechanical or engineering workshop
 
* Practical, hands-on approach and good attention to detail
Preferred:
 
* Knowledge of press tools or toolmaking
 
* Experience with Jones & Shipman or Bridgeport machines

Experience Required
 
* Milling machine: 1 year (required)
 
* Grinding machine: 1 year (required)
 
* Press tools: 1 year (preferred)
