Position: Manufacturing Engineer - Supply Chain (Contract)
Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineer – Contract (Outside IR35)

📍 Derby – 100% Onsite
📅 12-Month Rolling Contract
💷 Circa £35 per hour (Outside IR35)

We are currently recruiting for a Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineer to support a customer site based in Derby. This is a 12-month rolling contract, Outside IR35, requiring full-time onsite presence.

This role sits within the Manufacturing & Supply Chain function and focuses on ensuring product designs are manufacturable, while developing and supporting effective supply chains and manufacturing processes for turbo machinery-based products.

Key Responsibilities

* Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by providing manufacturing input into design, tolerancing, geometry, supplier selection, and cost

* Develop and implement manufacturing processes from early development through to production

* Lead technical sourcing activities and assess supplier capability and capacity

* Support supply chain and capability development as production volumes increase

* Ensure APQP principles are applied throughout the product lifecycle

* Provide production support, including manufacturing issue resolution and root cause analysis

* Ensure delivery of conforming parts with appropriate quality and conformance documentation

* Work closely with cross-functional teams including Design, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations

Required Experience

* Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or relevant industry experience

* Minimum 2 years’ experience in Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline

* Experience working with turbo machinery, including manufacture and/or assembly

* Exposure to components such as rotors, casings, aerofoils, fabrications, or assembly & test

* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work across multiple work streams

* Comfortable working flexibly across tasks, sometimes outside a traditional ME remit
