AMLR is partnering with a reputable engineering company to recruit a skilled, reliable, and time-served CNC Turner to join their team.
Based at a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Derby, the company offers vast experience in manufacturing Precision Components, Tooling & GSE, with 50 years experience in Engineering.
Important:
Due to the nature of the market our client supplies into, all candidates must be UK residents and will be subject to a DBS check.
Key Responsibilities for the CNC Turner vacancy:
* Set up and operate CNC turning machines (lathes) to produce precision components.
* Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
* Program CNC machines (or edit existing programs) using G-code or conversational controls.
* Select, install, and align cutting tools, fixtures, and work-holding devices.
* Set work offsets and tool offsets to ensure dimensional accuracy.
* Monitor machining operations to ensure parts meet tolerance and surface finish requirements.
* Inspect finished components using measuring equipment (verniers, micrometers, bore gauges, CMMs).
* Identify and correct machining issues, such as tool wear, vibration, or dimensional errors.
Required Qualifications & Skills for the CNC Turner vacancy:
* Apprenticeship or equivalent City & Guilds qualification preferred
* Minimum 3 years experience
* Apprentice-trained or time-served machinist
* Experience in aerospace or Motorsport environment is highly desirable
