Head of Assay Development

STEM Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Head of Assay Development to join our client's team on a permanent basis in North West England. This pivotal role involves leading the assay development and screening efforts within a dynamic pharmaceutical R&D environment. The successful candidate will oversee the design, optimisation, and implementation of assays to support drug discovery projects, ensuring high-quality and reliable results.
As Head of Assay Development you will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, manage project timelines, and contribute to strategic planning to accelerate development processes.
 
* Proven experience in Assay Development and Screening within a pharmaceutical research setting, particularly cell based assays and bioassays.
 
* Strong background in R&D, particularly in pharmaceutical industries
 
* Excellent leadership and project management skills
 
* Ability to optimise and troubleshoot assay protocols
 
* Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects
 
* Relevant academic qualification in life sciences or related field
