Are you an expert in Quality Management Systems, passionate about shaping group‑wide standards, driving system transformation and building a world‑class Business Management System across a global aerospace operation? Our client is one of the world's largest independent manufacturers of aerospace detailed parts, supporting prestigious clients worldwide including Airbus, GKN and Boeing. They are now seeking a high‑calibre Head of Quality Systems, responsible for developing, integrating and elevating the organisation's Quality Management System (QMS) into a unified Business Management System (BMS) across all international sites.

Permanent – Monday to Thursday: 8:00 am to 4:45 pm and Friday: 8:00 am to 12:30 pm;
Derby, UK + Occasional Travel.

Job Description
  • Own, manage and develop the group‑wide Quality Management System across all global manufacturing and logistics sites.
  • Lead the transition from a traditional QMS into a fully integrated Business Management System (BMS).
  • Map, streamline and elevate business processes; drive system standardisation and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate and integrate audit schedules across the group.
  • Lead and support internal and external audits and assessments.
  • Work cross‑functionally to align processes, documentation and standards across multiple locations.
  • Manage and mentor a small Quality Systems team (2 direct reports).
  • Travel to global sites as required (typically once or twice per quarter).
Essential Experience / Skills / Qualifications
  • Experience operating at Head of Quality Systems, Head of Quality Assurance or similar senior level.
  • Proven track record implementing, developing and improving Quality Management Systems.
  • Strong experience conducting, hosting and coordinating audits (auditor qualification desirable but not essential).
  • Aerospace experience highly desirable; high‑quality automotive backgrounds also considered.
  • Strong process‑mapping skills with the ability to think creatively and challenge the status‑quo.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills across multi‑site environments.
  • Pragmatic, proactive, forward‑thinking and able to drive system transformation.
