Senior Accountant - L/Derry - Permanent

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Accountant to join a well‑established organisation in L/Derry on a permanent basis. This senior role will play a key part in overseeing core financial activities across multiple business units, supporting monthly reporting, analysis, and balance sheet control, while also leading and developing a small finance team. Working closely with the Financial Controller, the Senior Accountant will help ensure strong financial governance, accurate reporting, and continuous improvement across the finance function.

• Record ledger entries for multiple business units.
• Review and approve journal entries of other team members to ensure good segregation of duties.
• Conduct analytical reviews to ensure data accuracy and communication.
• Own or share ownership for standard monthly finance tasks as determined by the financial controller, for example, but not limited to, sales reporting, margin analysis, PPV analysis, fixed asset accounting.
• Lead and develop a team of Assistant Accountants and Finance Assistants, providing guidance and training.
• Train junior staff, promoting technical growth and best practices.
• Review and prepare balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with monthly timelines.
• Approve balance sheet reconciliations prepared by others to ensure segregation of duties.

• Fully qualified Accountant (CCAB Member).
• Min 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Strong background/knowledge of Microsoft computer software, particularly advanced Excel skills.
