Location: Londonderry
Role Overview The Payroll Officer will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for weekly and monthly employees. Working closely with HR, Finance, and operational teams, this role will ensure compliance with Irish payroll legislation while delivering a high standard of service to employees and managers.
Key Responsibilities Full end-to-end responsibility for payroll processing using Sage / Sage Micropay for weekly and monthly payroll cycles. Ensure payroll is processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with Revenue, PAYE Modernisation, and statutory requirements. Preparation and submission of all payroll-related returns, including monthly payroll submissions, quarterly CSO reports, and year-end processes. Act as the primary point of contact for all payroll-related queries, providing clear and professional support to employees and management.
Daily administration and monitoring of the Time and Attendance Management System (TMS), ensuring accurate data transfer to payroll systems. Registration and onboarding of new employees on payroll and TMS systems. Generation and distribution of operational and payroll reports for management and shop floor supervisors. Processing of employee expenses, company payments, and payroll-related transactions through online banking platforms. Administration of employee leave, holiday requests, and timesheets in line with company policies.
Preparation of job costing and labour reports to support operational and financial planning. Preparation of employment-related documentation, including salary certificates, PPS number confirmations, bank and mortgage letters, and other ad hoc employee requests. Provide general administrative support as required, including reception cover when necessary. Support continuous improvement of payroll and HR administration processes. Key Skills & Experience Proven experience in a payroll or payroll-focused HR role.
Strong working knowledge of Sage / Sage Micropay. Up-to-date knowledge of Irish payroll legislation and PAYE Modernisation. Experience using time and attendance systems. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines. Professional and discreet approach to handling confidential information. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. What's on Offer Competitive salary (€35,000-€40,000 DOE).
