General Management, Operations Manager
The post-holder will assist in the strategic and operational management of services across the Trust including responsibility for the delivery of associated DSD related business services including Financial Management and Control, Procurement, Asset management. The post holder in this position will play a vital role in ensuring efficient and effective business operations, governance compliance, related to DSD services. These stages include Procurement, Storage, Deployment, Utilisation, Maintenance/Repair, and Disposal/Recycling.
The post holder requires a high degree of interaction with the DSD Senior Management Team he/she will support the achievement of Team objectives, be committed to multi-disciplinary working in driving forward a culture of change, innovation, development and modernisation. He/she will ensure that the focus of information system outputs is patient and client centred.
He/she will assist to oversee the deployment of all resources allocated to this area and will be responsible for aligning priorities with the wider Informatics plans. The post-holder will also assist to ensure that the DSD services are delivered in accordance with all relevant standards and policy.
He /she will develop and maintain good working relationships with stakeholders internal and external to the Trust, working within collaborative relationships where appropriate.
- Lead by example and display a leadership style that acts with kindness, prioritises collaboration and fosters creativity in the people they work with to empower staff and develop and nurture development at all levels.
- Act independently and on own initiative and inspire others, by challenging traditional practices and encouraging innovative problem solving amongst multi-disciplinary teams.
- Establish and maintain credible, productive relationships with people from a range of backgrounds, including DSD and senior service leads.
- Ensure that flow of information between colleagues and key stakeholders is maintained. Communicate and coordinate with staff and stakeholders at all levels to deliver an effective and integrated service.
- University degree or a recognised equivalent professional qualification in an Information Communication and Technology (ICT) and worked 3 years Information Communication and Technology (ICT) 1 discipline in the last 8 years. Or
- HND or recognised equivalent professional qualification in an Information Communication and Technology (ICT) 1 discipline and worked for at least 5 years Information Communication and Technology (ICT),
- Three of which should be at Band 6 or above (or equivalent) in a management role in the last 8 years Or
- Demonstrate at least 6 years relevant working experience within an Information & Communications Technology (ICT)1 discipline , four of which should be at Band 6 or above (or equivalent) in a management role in the last 8 years and,
- Hold a current valid PRINCE2/MSP Practitioner Certificate or demonstrate knowledge of PRINCE2/MSP methodologies and be willing to undertake the Practitioner programme(s) and secure certification within one year of taking up the post.
- Demonstrate experience of managing large scale deployments of digital equipment assets.
- Must have experience of Financial Management and Control, Procurement, and in a complex organisation.
- Demonstrate evidence of personal responsibility for achieving measurable improvements, across a range of performance management activities.
- Have managed/led a team for at least 3 years and can demonstrate leadership and organisational skills.
- Demonstrate evidence of report writing and presentation skills.
- Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment.
- This criterion will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by the Trust which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post.
