Production Operator

We’re looking for a temporary Production Operative for DS Smith’s packaging site in Devizes.

£14.47ph (increased to £14.99ph after 12 weeks)

• Weekdays 1.5× – £21.71 per hour
• Saturday AM 1.75× – £25.32ph
• Saturday PM & Sunday 2.0× – £28.94ph

06:00–14:00, 14:00–22:00 and 22:00–06:00 on a rotation. The successful applicant must be able to work all of these shifts.

3 months initially with the view to extend to 6 months.

ASAP (within 1–2 weeks)

• Safely operating machinery to create packaging product for DS Smith’s clientele.
• Ensuring efficiency is maximised and downtime is minimised.
• Working to and achieving productivity and performance targets as set by management.
• Ensuring consistent and quality standards are met at all times.
• Maintaining and cleaning in line with the planned maintenance schedule.
• Labelling product and stacking it on pallets.
• Scanning product and maintaining an efficient inventory.
• Working in line with a safe system of work (SSOW).
• Adhering to UK Health and Safety legislation at all times.

• Previous experience within a production or manufacturing environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation.
• Consider themselves to be a good team player, motivated and quality conscious.
• Able to be on your feet for long periods of time and conduct manual handling.
• FLT Licence (desirable).
