Lead - Projects

We are hiring for an exceptional Lead - Projects who will monitor and oversee the work of partner companies and contractors on the construction site of Simaisma project. He will be responsible to monitor and endorse technical contract data, specifications, drawings while ensuring quality standards and compliance requirements are being met.

The candidate should have the following:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management with a preferable membership of a professional engineering body.
• At least 7 years of experience in project management, engineering, construction, project controls and procurement while managing work on contractors and PMCMs.
• Should have strong technical competency with good knowledge of QCS and other Qatari building, fire, safety and environmental codes and regulations.
• Candidates locally available with valid QID are preferred.

• Managing contractors at the construction site to ensure seamless execution of the project plan:
  • Ensuring contractors deliver services within scope of work (cost, quality, time)
  • Providing contractors with detailed project schedules.
  • Maintaining and updating project related documentation and performing final handover to the Asset management department.
• Working closely with contractors to interpret and explain plans and specifications and ensuring adhering to Qatari regulations and policies while acting as a liaison between management and contractor for any changes to the plans and issues at site.
• Providing technical liaison to the procurement & contracts department during invitation, receipt and evaluation of bids and contract finalization.
• Monitoring and endorsing the completed work of contractors of the construction contract package (including architectural, civil, electrical and mechanical aspects of technical design, drawings and specifications, engineering estimates, project budgets and job schedules).
• Ensuring that damage, accidents, delays, and weather or emergencies at construction sites have been investigated appropriately by the contractor and appropriate actions are taken to mitigate impacts.
• Ensuring that contractor should comply with relevant Qatari rules and regulations related to building, fire and HSE.
• Inspecting safety aspects of jobs' progress and encouraging contractor to observe applicable safety rules and regulations.
• Overseeing entire construction management activities and recommending changes to contracts, collecting data and making recommendations on budget requirements, work progress, milestones, operational budgets, expenditure and providing technical advice/support to evaluate contractors' claims.
• Managing project files and reviewing logs and records of work while preparing periodic and special reports.
• Assisting manager and controls department for approving payments and reimbursements in accordance with contract terms and conditions.
