Responsibilities
- Monitoring of all related activities within project site, conducting regular inspection, and ensuring the work being carried out is in line with approved JHA, Risk Assessment, and Method Statement and approved Permit to Work System as well as latest instructions.
- Identifying and implementing risk reduction measures in all areas and phases of construction.
- Assisting in checking and reviewing work Method Statement, JHA, Safety Certification and other related documents submitted by Project Consultant/Contractors.
- Taking necessary action in case any lapse and/or lagging.
- Supervising and coordinating with contractors to achieve the Project Overall Safety Goal.
- Recommending appropriate solutions and proposing changes as necessary.
- Attending meetings with contractors, sub‑contractors and vendors to review work site progress weekly or more frequently as required.
- Analyzing and addressing critical areas and providing prompt solution.
- Performing field inspection, survey, review, advice and proposing administrative close‑out precautions.
- Ensuring that COMPANY's safety regulations for contractors, project safety plans and COMPANY / State of Qatar's environmental regulations are understood and followed by the contractors.
- Working effectively with various personnel and within a team with flexibility in work assignment.
- Undertaking and coordinating accidents and incidents investigations.
- Providing guidance and technical assistance to contractors.
- Encountering issues that are multi‑disciplinary while working as a construction focal point for a project.
- Interacting with internal departments and contractors, discussing project information, possible solutions to problems and coordinating work.
- Updating daily and weekly construction progress reports for assigned projects and verifying contractors' progress statements for accuracy.
- Coordinating with concerned parties to resolve routine site issues and referring technical queries to senior construction supervisor.
- Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- 10 - 15 years in Civil and Infrastructure works related to Roads and Highways (Mega Projects), cross‑country pipelines in the Oil & Gas industry, specializing in onshore major projects. Conversant with local, national & international codes, standards and specifications.
- Computer knowledge is an advantage.
- Experienced in conducting and managing protection of live oil and gas pipelines as per approved design requirements.
- Ability to work within a diverse cultural environment.
- Demonstrated interpersonal/team‑building skills.
- Self‑starter with ability to drive accomplishments.
- Good command of the English language (oral & written).
- Knowledge of industry engineering standards, quality control, safety and environmental awareness.
- Good supervisory, planning and coordination skills.
- Good communication and report‑writing skills.
- Day Rate in QAR Plus Allowance
- 8 Hours / 5 Days
- 2 years, renewable
- Qatar
