Job DescriptionThe Joinery Estimator will play a critical role in ensuring the commercial success of interior fit‐out projects by accurately estimating costs for materials, labour, and equipment. The role involves reviewing tender documents, preparing cost estimates, coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors, and supporting the project team in developing competitive bids. The position requires strong technical knowledge, market awareness, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze drawings and specifications to determine the scope of work and materials required.
- Prepare Request for Information (RFI) for any missing information from the Client.
- Prepare and send Request for Quotation (RFQ) packages to suppliers and subcontractors and follow up quotations.
- Prepare supplier and subcontractor price comparisons.
- Verify quantities required for the project.
- Review bid documents, attend pre‑bid meetings, and conduct site visits to gather information and clarify project requirements.
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for joinery projects.
- Propose cost‑saving options in case there are budget constraints.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and procurement team to develop cost‑effective and value engineering solutions.
- Research and evaluate materials, labour costs, and equipment to ensure accurate cost estimates.
- Prepare and submit timely and competitive bids to clients and contractors.
- Monitor and track project costs, including labour, materials, and equipment.
- Provide accurate and timely progress reports to project stakeholders.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulations to ensure compliance and optimise cost estimate.
Education
- Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
Experience
- Minimum 5‑8 years of experience in interior fit‑out estimation;
Middle East experience preferred.
- Professional certifications in estimating (CPE/CEP) are advantageous.
• Valid driving license is a plus.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, labour rates, and fit‑out processes.
- Proficiency in estimating software and MS Excel (BOQs, quantity take‑offs, cost sheets).
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and tender documents.
- Strong analytical skills for evaluating costs and preparing accurate estimates.
- Knowledge of market pricing for materials, subcontractors, and labour.
- Highly detail‑oriented and organized.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team.
- Proactive, responsible, and professional with strong work ethics.
- Adaptable and capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines.
