CONSTRUCTION & INSTALLATION SUPERVISOR (OFF. STRUCTURAL & PIPING)

Airswift is a global manpower provider specializing in the Energy, Infrastructure & IT sectors, present in more than 70 countries worldwide. We are working with a client based in Qatar to source a qualified supervisor for a residential contract to be based in Qatar.
- Higher National Certificate (HNC) / Higher National Diploma (HND), Diploma in Instrumentation and/or Electrical and/or Mechanical from a recognized University with extensive commissioning experience of Oil & Gas projects.
- Good skills in construction management, effective communication, conflict resolution.
- A minimum of eight to ten (8‑10) years’ experience in relevant construction and installation activities in oil & gas industry projects.
- Experience in Mechanical, piping and steel structure installation and commissioning of offshore projects.
- Experienced in implementing construction industry best practices, systems, processes and standards.
- Understanding of construction techniques for various types of work, especially in Green, brown field and Well Head jackets.
- Good skills in construction management, effective communication, conflict resolution.
- Exposure to works by associated disciplines.
- Computer literate with good communication and writing skills.
- Excellent knowledge of industry engineering standards, quality control, safety and environmental awareness.
- Excellent ability to interpret and review method statements, lifting plans, inspection and test plans, construction schedules and drawings.
- Ability to highlight potential bottlenecks/problems and suggest solutions.
- Ability to supervise, cooperate and coordinate with multi‑national and multi‑cultural contractor workforce.
Duties & Responsibilities
- QP representative on board QP facilities/contractor marine spread at offshore locations responsible for the project‑related activities.
- Communicate and liaise with asset holders for site access and preparation requirements for construction activities and hot works.
- Supervise EPIC Contractor during the execution of Mechanical and Steel Structure related construction activities at offshore construction sites in MM/BH fields and Halul.
- Participate in reviewing detailed design drawings, method statements, material receipt inspection, etc.
- Supervise, monitor, check and perform mechanical and structural material receipt inspection in accordance with drawings, standards and specification; raise damage and/or missing material report.
- Prepare required work permits as Permit Applicant and ensure all stipulated QP e‑PTW system requirements are adhered to by contractor personnel.
- Attend daily meetings with the asset holder for planning of works and reporting of progress/constraints.
- Coordinate with the contractor representative for offshore logistics (movement of personnel and material) for execution of work as per agreed schedule.
- Review contractor's construction plans/schedules/method statement/JHAs.
- Liaise with PO, Operation and Contractor HSEQ personnel to ensure required surveillance construction/installation works are carried out in line with approved HQSE procedures.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure works are in line with approved procedures and AFC drawings.
- Check and ensure that all construction works are completed in accordance with approved standards and consistent with contract specifications.
- Supervise and approve contractor Mechanical and Steel Structure activities, including but not limited to piping, valve, steel structure installation, lifting activities, blasting and painting, hydro testing and leak testing at WHJ’s, production stations and Halul Island.
- Coordinate with the end user and contractor to carry out the Mechanical Completion Walk‑down, raise the punch list and follow up with contractor to ensure close‑out and endorse the Mechanical Completion Certificate.
- Perform and witness inspection based on approved ITP and certify the completion works; sign inspection test records and quality control forms.
- Participate in and support the commissioning team during pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities.
- Maintain a daily record of progress noting special comments; report to supervisor any work anomalies or contractual deviations committed by contractor personnel and recommend corrective actions.
- Review and forward daily and weekly construction progress reports for assigned projects to management and verify contractor’s progress statements for accuracy.
