DescriptionThe Senior Design Manager successfully manages the design process of a project in line with programme requirements, from concept through to detailed design, BOQ, IFCs and project execution, ensuring full compliance with Contract specifications whilst minimizing cost and maximizing value engineering opportunities.
Responsibilities- Lead the creative direction and oversee the design process for all projects, ensuring alignment with brand standards and client expectations.
- Develop and implement innovative design concepts and strategies that enhance user experience and meet project goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and engineering, to ensure cohesive and effective design solutions.
- Mentor and guide junior designers, providing feedback and support to foster their professional growth and development.
- Conduct design reviews and provide constructive critique to ensure high-quality design outputs.
- Ensure all design deliverables are technically feasible and can be implemented within project constraints and timelines.
- Oversee the selection and use of design tools, software, and technologies to optimize the design workflow and enhance productivity.
- Stay updated with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve design processes and outcomes.
- Coordinate with technical teams to ensure seamless integration of design elements into final products.
- Manage design documentation and technical specifications to ensure accurate and efficient communication of design requirements.
- Support the implementation of HSE initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution in alignment with company and IMS policies.
- Strong ability to develop and articulate innovative design concepts that align with brand identity and project objectives.
- Expertise in design software and tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma) and a solid understanding of technical constraints and feasibility.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire design teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Excellent skills in working with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and engineering, to ensure cohesive project execution.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate design challenges and develop effective solutions that meet both aesthetic and technical requirements.
- ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills, are a requirement to be successful in this role.
- Minimum 8 years working experience, 5 years in a relevant supervisory position, 2 years GCC experience is a plus.
