Job Summary The Neurology Specialist is responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with neurological disorders, providing expert‑level care to those with a wide range of conditions, including but not limited to epilepsy, stroke, neurodegenerative diseases (such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s), headaches, and multiple sclerosis. The role involves comprehensive clinical assessments, interpretation of diagnostic tests, formulating individualized treatment plans, and conducting specialized procedures where applicable.
This position requires a high level of expertise, the ability to work autonomously, and a commitment to patient‑centered care. The Neurology Specialist also plays a key role in the teaching and mentoring of junior staff and contributes to clinical research within the department.
Conducts thorough clinical evaluations of patients presenting with neurological symptoms, including neurological history taking, physical examination, and diagnostic testing.
Diagnoses and treats a wide range of neurological conditions, including stroke, epilepsy, movement disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, migraines, and neuromuscular diseases.
Independently manages both inpatient and outpatient neurology cases, offering timely interventions and follow‑up care as required.
Conducts rounds, assesses inpatients (when applicable) and outpatients on a regular basis, in line with established best practice.
Develops and implements individualized treatment plans for patients, ensuring that they are evidence‑based and focused on improving patient outcomes.
Utilizes advanced diagnostic tools such as MRI, CT scans, EEG, and lumbar puncture to assess neurological conditions and provide accurate diagnoses.
Performs or assists in specialized neurological procedures and interventions, such as lumbar punctures, nerve conduction studies, botulinum toxin injections, and epilepsy monitoring.
Provides consultations for difficult or complex neurological cases, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest quality care.

Supervises and mentors Assistant Neurology Specialists, fellows, residents, and medical students, offering guidance on clinical decision‑making, diagnostic techniques, and patient management.
Leads and participates in department rounds, grand rounds, and case discussions to ensure continuous learning and high standards of care within the team.
Ensures that junior staff members maintain high clinical standards and adheres to hospital protocols and best practices.
Supports the professional development of junior staff through regular teaching, feedback, and assessment.
Actively participates in or leads clinical research projects to advance the field of neurology and improve patient care.
Collaborates with colleagues and academic institutions on research initiatives, publications, and presentations at national and international conferences.
Additional ResponsibilitiesPerforms special procedures as privileged.
Participates in scheduling and attending hospital shifts and/or on‑call services.
Actively participates in developing and implementation of the department vision, plans, rules and regulations.
Assumes other administrative duties within the department or throughout the hospital as requested by the head of the department and/or medical director.
Contributes to the development of evaluation/audit processes to maintain standards within the organization.
Participates in quality management programs.
