Specialist Dermatologist

Key Responsibilities Clinical Duties

• Provide specialist consultations for dermatological conditions in outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Diagnose and manage a wide range of skin, hair, and nail diseases, including chronic, acute, and complex cases.
• Perform dermatological procedures such as biopsies, cryotherapy, excisions, phototherapy oversight, intralesional injections, and cosmetic dermatology (if applicable).
• Lead dermatology clinics, urgent referral clinics, and specialty clinics (e.g., psoriasis, eczema, skin cancer).
• Participate in skin cancer screening, dermatoscopy, and minor surgical procedures.
• Provide on-call dermatology support when required.

• Ensure high standards of patient care aligned with clinical guidelines and evidence-based practice.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and provide patient education.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and documentation.
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

• Work closely with other doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, including skin cancer MDTs.
• Provide specialist advice to other departments and external healthcare partners.

• Supervise and teach junior doctors, medical students, and nursing staff.
• Contribute to departmental teaching programs, workshops, and continuing medical education (CME).

• Contribute to the development and improvement of dermatology services.
• Participate in clinical governance, audits, guideline development, and research activities.
• Engage in strategic planning to expand services and introduce new technologies or treatments

• Experience in dermatopathology, cosmetic dermatology, or skin cancer surgery.
• Research experience and publications in dermatology.
• Ability to lead service development initiatives.
• Teaching qualifications or experience.
