Mechanical Lead (Packages Lead / Rotating Lead / Static Lead)

• Education:
  
  BE or MSc in Mechanical Engineering
• Strong knowledge in Packages /
  Rotating /
  Static equipment
• Prior experience in a Lead role (preferred for Qatar Energy projects)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, SAP, Navisworks
• Minimum 15 years of experience
• Offshore engineering background specific to:
• Packages Lead:
  Process Packages, Flare, Chemical Injection, Cranes
• Rotating Lead:
  Compressors, Pumps, Rotating Packages
• Static Lead:
  Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Scrapers, Electrical Heaters
• Qatar Energy project experience highly desirable

• Lead the Offshore Mechanical Engineering team in performing mechanical design activities according to project needs, budget, schedule and quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with all project interfaces and supervise in/out information flow.
• Maintain and develop technical skills, expertise, knowledge, procedures and tools for proposals and project execution.
• Ensure the capitalisation of project experience to improve and harmonise work methodologies.
• Analyse the complete scope of work, identifying objectives of the discipline and internal/external interfaces.
• Analyse technical documents (specifications, calculation notes, drawings, etc.) to assess scope, risks and required studies.
• Set up and issue clarification requests during the proposal phase and include qualifications in the bid.
• Seek solutions that improve overall competitiveness.
• Estimate quantities and validate estimation by other specialists.
• Estimate the budget required for studies completion.
• Set up the schedule of execution studies and plan resource mobilisation.
• Validate consistency between budget, resources and means allocated for work completion.
• Notify the Technical Manager of modifications or anticipated difficulties.
• Identify project hot spots, criticalities and activity priorities.
• Organise the work of the team and write project procedures for mechanical studies.
• Define and follow up on resource mobilisation planning.
• Prepare Project Design Premises and supervise writing of the Mechanical Design Brief.
• Coordinate engineering activities with team members, focusing on optimisation of quality, costs and schedule.
• Manage interfaces by coordinating with other engineering disciplines, project team, sites, construction, installation, etc.
• Control input data for team activities, check and review all documents issued.
• Supervise writing of specifications and requisitions as well as technical bid evaluations.
• Inform the Technical Manager and Project Manager of any foreseen technical or financial or delay risk.
• Deal with Third Party Authority for certification process of offshore mechanical design.
• Deal with Marine Warranty Surveyor during surveying process of marine operations.
• Provide weight and COG data to weight control engineer.
• Feed the Offshore Mechanical Department improvement system with lessons learned.
