Job PurposeThe Head of Project Engineering is responsible for overseeing the engineering design and execution carried out by the EPC / FEED Contractor and its Sub-contractors, ensuring the quality of the design meets project milestones and budget. The role involves leading and coordinating project activities between the EPC / FEED and Onplot Project Management Teams to ensure detailed design deliverables are executed on schedule to support procurement, construction, and commissioning.
This position also drives the Contractor's performance based on key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensures that all engineering deliverables are integrated with other project groups to support overall project execution.
Leads key multi-discipline activities within the PMT Onplot Project Management via the Delivery team and coordinates with the EPC / FEED contractor the execution of engineering, procurement and construction activities to meet milestones and stay within budget. Coordinates project management activities including schedule analysis, risk monitoring, fabrication tracking, mechanical erection, SDR monitoring, early intervention, etc., to other critical packages as determined by Project Management, in order to meet project objectives.
Supports Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning to ensure plans are clearly understood by the CONTRACTOR and PMT and jointly working as a team to drive to key milestones to support execution sequence.
Ensures execution plan is monitored using the relevant KPIs to detect deviations and enable early intervention if necessary and communicates the execution performance in his area of responsibility through weekly and monthly Delivery reports, leveraging on the aforementioned KPIs.
QualificationsBoundaries:
Bachelors' Degree in Science or Engineering.
- 10 years experience in Oil & Gas industry with a strong background in detailed engineering management of Major Oil & Gas Projects, preferably experience on a major LNG project including 1 year experience in a supervisory role, including acting roles, or oversight of contractor / sub-contractors / service / vendor personnel.
- Experience with engineering leadership, leading multi-discipline activities and well versed in design safety aspects of engineering.
- Experience with risk assessment approach to decision making.
- Experience with LNG facilities.
- Experience with large process units design.
- Experience working with major EPC / FEED Contractors in a Lump Sum environment.
- Demonstrates sound written and verbal communication skills with the ability to lead and communicate at all organizational levels.
- Demonstrate ability and sensitivity to work with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
- Field engineering experience is desirable.
