Assistant/Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering (Thermo-Fluid Sciences)
College of Science and Engineering
Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development (QF), was founded in 2010 to continue fulfilling QF’s vision of unlocking human potential. HBKU is a homegrown research-intensive University, offering undergraduate and graduate degrees, that acts as a catalyst for positive transformation in Qatar and the region while having a global impact.
The College of Science and Engineering (CSE) currently offers the largest selection of undergraduate and graduate programs within the university and aspires to be a leading college committed to excellence in research and education, with a major emphasis on innovative teaching, interdisciplinary research, and scholarship. It has three established divisions: the Division of Information and Computing Technology, the Division of Sustainable Development, and the Division of Engineering Management and Decision Sciences.
CSE faculty members are internationally recognized for their high-impact research, which addresses societal and economic needs in Qatar and globally.
The Mechanical Engineering Program under the College of Science and Engineering (CSE) is inviting applications for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the field of Thermo-Fluids with a focus on HVAC systems, smart and renewable energy experimentation and modelling, and sustainable building energy systems.
Preference will be given to candidates with a strong background in thermo-fluid sciences applied to buildings and energy systems, with an emphasis on advanced experimental methods and high-fidelity modelling.
Candidates who integrate emerging approaches in thermo-fluids, such as AI-enabled and data-driven modelling, digital twins for buildings and districts, multi-scale and multi-physics simulation, advanced thermal storage, and resilience of energy systems in arid climates, are particularly encouraged to apply.
Outstanding candidates with exceptional research and academic records may be considered for appointment at the Associate Professor level.
