Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly experienced Automation Project Manager with 8–10 years of expertise in automation systems, including PLCs, RTUs, Control Panels, HMIs, and SCADA. This role demands a professional who combines technical expertise, project management skills, and commercial acumen, capable of driving complex automation projects while ensuring revenue realization, cross‑department coordination, and digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Project & Program Management: Lead end‑to‑end automation projects from feasibility and design through commissioning and handover, ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, resource allocation, risk registers, and cost estimates aligned with corporate and client objectives.
- Monitor project KPIs, progress, and financial performance, including invoicing, revenue inflows, and profitability.
- Coordinate multiple simultaneous projects, balancing priorities, and managing dependencies.
- Technical Leadership: Oversee design, installation, testing, and commissioning of PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, SCADA and control panels, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards (IEC, ISA, QCS, and Ashghal ICA).
- Drive digitalization initiatives, including Smart Plant solutions, cloud‑based SCADA integration, IoT connectivity, and automated reporting.
- Troubleshoot technical challenges, provide engineering guidance, and approve technical deliverables.
- Lead cross‑functional teams (on‑site and remote), ensuring effective collaboration and knowledge transfer.
- Commercial Management & Revenue Realization: Manage project financials, including budgets, cost tracking, change orders, and commercial risk.
- Ensure timely invoicing and revenue recognition, coordinating with commercial and finance teams.
- Identify scope changes, contract variations, and opportunities to maximize revenue and project profitability.
- Collaborate with business development teams to evaluate new project opportunities and proposals.
- Stakeholder & Client Engagement: Act as the primary client interface, ensuring expectations are met and relationships are strengthened.
- Maintain open communication with internal departments (engineering, procurement, commissioning, QA/QC, and commercial) to ensure seamless project execution.
- Provide regular project reports and dashboards to senior management and stakeholders.
- Promote a client‑focused culture, addressing concerns proactively and building trust for future projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.
- PMP certification or equivalent is preferred.
- 12-14 years of experience in automation, with hands‑on exposure to PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, SCADA (AVEVA preferred), and Control Panels.
- 4-5 years of proven project management experience, including multi‑discipline, high‑value projects.
- Solid experience in commercial management, invoicing, and revenue realization.
- Strong understanding of standards including IEC, ISA, QCS, and international best practices.
- Strong technical expertise and problem‑solving capabilities in automation systems.
- Proficient in project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent).
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Experience in cross‑functional coordination across engineering, procurement, commissioning, QA/QC, and commercial teams.
- Knowledge of digitalization in automation, including SCADA analytics, IoT integration, and automation reporting.
- Middle East experience, particularly in Qatar, is an advantage.
- Fluency in English;
Arabic is a plus.
