Parsons is seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Associate Estimating Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will assist in preparing cost estimates, analyzing project requirements, and supporting the estimating team in delivering accurate and competitive proposals. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a strong academic background in engineering and a passion for cost estimation and project management.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates for engineering and construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment costs.
• Reviewing project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to understand project scope and requirements.
• Supporting the development of Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and cost breakdowns for various project components.
• Collaborating with senior estimators and project teams to gather data and ensure accurate cost projections.
• Conducting market research to obtain pricing information for materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
• Assisting in the preparation of tender documents and proposals for submission to clients.
• Maintaining and updating cost databases, historical data, and estimating tools.
• Performing quality checks on estimates to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
• Supporting the analysis of project risks and contingencies to ensure comprehensive cost estimates.
• Providing administrative and technical support to the estimating team as needed.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Cost Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Basic understanding of cost estimation principles and construction processes.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:

• Familiarity with estimating software and tools (e.g., Primavera, or similar).
• Basic knowledge of construction contracts and project management principles.
• Internship or prior experience in cost estimation or construction projects is a plus.
• Willingness to learn and develop skills in cost estimation and project management.
