Welding Foreman – Offshore Shutdown (Piping/Structural)
The Welding Foremansuperviseswelding crews during offshore shutdowns, ensuring high-quality, code-compliantwelding of pipelines, structural components, and pressure equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead welders, fitters, and riggers inSMAW,GTAW,FCAWprocesses for piping, vessels, and structural repairs.
- Ensure
WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications) andPQR (Procedure Qualification Records) are strictly followed. - Monitorpre-heat, inter pass temp, andpost-weld heat treatment (PWHT) as required.
- Enforce
ASME B31.3, API 1104, and AWSD
1.1standards. - Coordinate with
QC Inspectorsfor
NDT(RT/UT/MPI/PT) and weld defect repairs. - Maintainwelding logs, MTCs (Material Test Certs), and traceability records.
- Conducttoolbox talks, risk assessments, and hot-work permits.
- Ensure compliance with
Qatar
Energy(QP) safety standards(PTW, LOTO, gas testing).
- Assign tasks to welders based on skill level(e.g.,6G-certified welders for critical spools).
- Manage welding consumables, equipment, andrepair timelines.
- Education:
Diploma in Welding Engineering or Trade Certification (e.g.,AWS/CWI, CSWIP 3.1). - Certifications (Mandatory):
- CSWIP 3.2 (Senior Welding Inspector) or AWSCertified Welding Supervisor.
- BOSIET/HUET (Offshore Survival),OPITO-approved H2S/BA.
- 8+ years in oil/gas welding, with3+years offshore shutdowns.
- Familiarity with
Qatar
Energy (QP),Shell, or Total Energies shutdown procedures. - Expertise instainless steel, duplex,and carbon steel welding.
- Proficient inisometric/P&IDreading, weld mapping, and SAP.
